Leslie is an attorney, former cybersecurity executive, and national security professional with two decades of governmental and commercial experience spanning the Department of Defense (DoD), the intelligence community (IC), Big Four consulting, global financial services, and the defense industrial base (DIB). Prior to entering legal practice, Leslie advised organizations operating in heavily regulated environments on cybersecurity governance, risk, and compliance (GRC); privacy; Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI); and the implementation of enterprise cybersecurity and compliance programs.
Today, Leslie’s legal practice focuses on advising government contractors, technology companies, cloud service providers, digital manufacturers, and financial institutions on cybersecurity, privacy, federal regulatory compliance, and national security-related matters. Her work includes counseling clients on NIST SP 800-171, Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC), cybersecurity compliance strategy, CUI identification and designation, risk management frameworks, and the legal and operational implications of evolving federal cybersecurity requirements.
In addition to her cybersecurity and compliance practice, Leslie has experience advising clients on matters at the intersection of law, technology, and national security. Her combined legal, technical, operational, and policy background enables her to interpret complex statutory, regulatory, and contractual frameworks, assess legal and compliance risk, and provide practical and defensible guidance in high-stakes environments.
Leslie is also a regular speaker at industry conferences on cybersecurity, privacy, federal contracting, CMMC, and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), and serves as an adjunct lecturer at Columbia University, where she teaches Enterprise Risk Management.
